The Special Operations Division is staffed with deputies who have advanced skill levels in specific fields of law enforcement. The team is designed to respond and resolve serious incidents that primarily involve armed suspects and are generally more hazardous than most law enforcement calls.

The CCSO K-9 team works under the direction of Special Operations. The K-9 units are used to search for illegal narcotics, suspect tracking and suspect apprehension. Each dog and their handler is certified through the American Working Dog Association.
